This year, Andrzej Pągow­ski, one of the most pro­mi­nent Polish gra­phic and poster arti­sts, cele­bra­tes the 40th anni­ver­sa­ry of cre­ati­ve body of work. On that occa­sion, the Master orga­ni­zes an exhi­bi­tion at the W-arte! Open Art Spa­ce at Łowic­ka 56/3. The exhi­bi­tion of selec­ted works from a dif­fe­rent sta­ges of his care­er will be accom­pa­nied by a com­pe­ti­tion for gra­phic desi­gners.

The gre­at care­er of Andrzej Pągow­ski was laun­ched by a poster for the play “Mąż i Żona” (“Hus­band and Wife”) by Alek­san­der Fre­dro, direc­ted by Adam Hanusz­kie­wicz and sta­ged in the Natio­nal The­atre. Com­ple­ted in 1977, his first prin­ted work was rewar­ded with the bron­ze medal at the VIII Bien­na­le of Gra­phic Design in Brno. For­ty years later, along with the Master we chal­len­ge gra­phic desi­gners.

The sub­ject of the con­test is desi­gning a poster for the same play of Alek­san­der Fre­dro.

The results will be anno­un­ced on March 31 and the win­ner will rece­ive a pri­ze of PLN 1,500, whi­le his work will be exhi­bi­ted in our venue along­si­de the master­work of Andrzej Pągow­ski, star­ting from April 7, the day of an offi­cial ope­ning of the exhi­bi­tion in the pre­sen­ce of the Master him­self.

The deadli­ne for sen­ding entries by elec­tro­nic means is March 26.
